About the author:
In 2018, Sam Abbott - aged 17 - solo travelled around china for 5 weeks. The next year - aged 18 - he survived travelling alone in Greece for 5 days with no more than 30 euros in his pocket. Not only did he survive in fact, but he managed to hitchhike 300 miles through the Peloponnese. And in 2020, now 19 years old, he was set to spend 3 months passing through 7 countries in South America, including a journey down the entire length of the Amazon River in a cargo ship. The coronavirus pandemic meant that this trip unfortunately had to be cancelled.
Sam didn’t use his 3 months under lockdown (and out of his job as a barista at Costa Coffee) to rest. He instead created The Shameless Planet website and brand, wrote blogs, articles and travel guides, designed and sold original products and clothing, enrolled in an online photography course, and built a following on Instagram. He did all of this with no experience, but with simply a passion for travel.
A community and a brand - born from the coronavirus pandemic. Now he’s ready to enter this new world and take you with him on his journey.
